7 Cabinet Ministers in Burundi and a presidential advisor have tested positive for Coronavirus. All of the politicians are likely to be evacuated to Kenya for treatment.

These reports come after the first lady of Burundi was airlifted to Nairobi on Thursday for covid-19 treatment. First lady of Burundi Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza was flown to Nairobi after contracting Coronavirus.

Mrs Nkurunziza was flown aboard Amref plane registration 5Y-FDP on Thursday at around 10 am according to online flight logs.

Her departure from Bujumbura was done secretly and most of the airport staff were prevented from accessing her travel records.

According to reports, she arrived at the airport in a convoy of 7 high-end cars including 2 military escorts. She was escorted by 3 state ministers and Deputy Chief of State protocol Albert Nasasagare.
