Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei was rushed to St.Luke Hospital after being involved in a road accident.
The accident happened along Eldoret-Kapsabet road on Friday night. The politician is said to have been driving from Nandi to his Eldoret home at around 10 pm.
The senator was leaving a cleansing ceremony for Deputy President William Ruto at Kipsirwo village.
Despite sustaining injuries, the senator is currently in good condition. He took to social media to share the state of his condition.
“Safe and sound. God bless you all. Sanitize, stay home and stay safe. Blessed Sabbath,” he tweeted.

Nandi Laibons Council of Elders conducted the cleansing ceremony for DP which lasted for two hours. The elders conducted the ritual in an effort to protect the DP from bad omen in his political career.
The DP is said to have met more than 50 Nandi leaders over the 2022 elections.
Some of the politicians who accompanied the DP were Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, Senator Samson Cherargei and Tinderet MP Julius Meli.
According to a local daily, Ruto was “doused with milk and honey from a special traditional gourd by elders dressed in wild animal skins,”
“The elders, popularly known as Orkoiyot, held prayers and offered sacrifices on a nearby hill. They included Christopher Arap Agul and Stephen Arap Tormoi,” the daily says.
