Violence rocks Mombasa as a resurgent gang attacks Bamburi residents

Residents of Bamburia area in Mombasa county are under siege after a resurgent gang unleashed violence on residents.

Wakili Kwanza, an infamous group of violent deviants, revived its criminal activities with an attack targeting residents living in Bamburi, Mombasa. At least 8 people are heavily injured. The gang coming from the Soweto Village section attacked anyone on sight while chanting ‘Takbir, takbir’.

Wearing bright reflector jackets and using machetes, the gang of about 30 people aimlessly attacked residents leaving the victims with deep injuries.


Aaron Yegon, a victim, said he was in a pub when he heard a commotion.

“I thought they were people fighting and went out to see what was happening. That is where I came face to face with them,” he said.
