Kenya’s premier betting firm, Sportpesa gets back business as KRA completes clearance. The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has cleared Sportpesa and set the gambling facility on a path back to active business. Sportpesa will now apply for a new trading licence from the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB). The company has expressed confidence in improved relations with the Kenyan government and a full resumption to normal business operations. James Mburu, another man from Central Kenya, appointed as KRA Commissioner General

James Mburu Githii has been appointed as the new Commissioner General for a three-year term effective July 1, 2019. He succeeds John Njiraini, whose exit has been marred by controversies.
